Uday V. Shenoy
Prof. Uday V. Shenoy completed his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay and later his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University in 1988. He later went on to become a professor at IIT Bombay by joining the department of Chemical Engineering, and continued to be a part of the department till 2006.
It was often said about ‘the man’ that if it is raining in Mumbai and the local trains have stopped, and the attendance in his lecture is optional, then also, there will be complete attendance in his class. The charisma of Prof. Uday V Shenoy in teaching Elements of Transport Phenomena, Heat Exchanger Network Synthesis, Process Control had been so strong that when his course would get over, the students would feel that their Chemical Engineering is over.
There were many who got lucky enough to study from him in his 18 years of teaching career at IIT Bombay. But there were a select few who received philosophical mentoring from him.
Prof. Uday V. Shenoy is now Mentor and Advisor to RED and its team and all the students.
